What to do in Måløy

Måløy is located in the middle of the shipping lane at 62 degrees north. As our closest neighbors, we have the mighty Stadhavet in the north and the powerful North Sea in the west. Strong low pressures often come in from the west, which creates a harsh climate and harsh conditions for permanent residents and, not least, sailors and fishermen. Moldøen and Måløy therefore became a natural harbour for trading goods. In modern times, Måløy has built up traditions within shipyards, fishing and service functions for the maritime and marine industry. Måløy is now one of the Norway's leading ports for the export of fresh and frozen fish.

When it comes to tourism, Måløy and Vågsøy have a great potential that we at Explore 62 North want to be involved and highlight. We have a rough and unique nature that is just waiting to be used on nature's own terms. Around Måløy we have mighty seas that are perfect for sea rafting, kayaking, deep sea fishing trips and sea eagle safaris. We have deep fjords, cliffs and mountains. It is absolute peace of mind to play and have fun in the quay rocks or visit one of the four lighthouse we have on the island.
